DSC To Remain an Independent State Agency
Resources Agency Secretary John Laird said this morning that the Delta Stewardship Council (Council) will not be folded into the Natural Resources Agency as was proposed in Governor Brown’s Reorganization Plan submitted to the Little Hoover Commission.

This follows the Governor’s March, 2012 reorganization plan sent to the Little Hoover Commission to cut the number of state agencies from 12 to 10, including the transfer of the Delta Stewardship Council to the Natural Resources Agency.
”The Delta Stewardship Council will transfer to the Natural Resources Agency. This will help improve communication and coordination regarding the State’s water policies, and it will consolidate administrative functions.”
