June 25, 2011 – Ag-Urban Coalition Comments on Fourth Staff Draft of Delta Plan
On Friday, June 24, and on behalf of the Ag-Urban Coalition, which Mountain Counties WRA is and has been an active participant and signatory, ACWA submitted comments to the Delta Stewardship Council on the fourth staff draft of the Delta Plan. 4th Draft comments
The comments acknowledge significant improvements in some aspects of the fourth draft but identify areas of continued concern, including the draft plan’s need for clearly defined goals and a comprehensive approach to addressing water supply and ecosystem problems in the Delta.
The coalition submitted an Alternate Delta Plan to the council on June 10, along with a policy letter laying out key questions the council has yet to discuss.
Next Wednesday, June 29, 2011, coalition members will meet to discuss “where we go from here”
