The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) and the Wildlife Conservation Board (WCB) will jointly conduct a public meeting to discuss their new grant programs established by Proposition 1. CDFW and WCB will also receive comments on their Draft Guidelines that describe the processes for grant applications through a competitive proposal solicitation process.
CDFW is currently developing two new grant programs to fund multi-benefit ecosystem and watershed protection and restoration projects, as outlined in Proposition 1. The Watershed Restoration Grant Program will focus on water quality, river, and watershed protection and restoration projects of statewide importance outside of the SacramentoSan Joaquin Delta (Delta). The Delta Water Quality and Ecosystem Restoration Grant Program will focus on water quality, ecosystem restoration and fish protection facilities that benefit the Delta.
WCB is developing the California Stream Flow Enhancement Program to fund projects that enhance stream flows and are consistent with objectives and actions outlined in the California Water Action Plan, with emphasis on ecosystem restoration. CDFW’s competitive grant programs will invest $285 million in projects of statewide importance outside of the Delta and $87.5 million in projects that benefit the Delta over a 10 year period. WCB’s California Stream Flow Enhancement Program will invest a total of $200 million in statewide projects.
