Butte near final water deal that could bring $12 million to county in next decade

OROVILLE — A deal that could open a new relationship between the Department of Water Resources and Butte County and could net the county about $1.2 million a year for the next decade is all but signed, sealed and delivered.
The multi-faceted agreement will result in a pair of water contractors “leasing” about 24,000 acre-feet of water that is part of Butte County’s allocation of 27,500 acre-feet annually, according to Supervisor Bill Connelly of Oroville…..click here for the story from the Chico Enterprise Record.
