MCWRA Hosts 2024 Legislative Tour

Last week, MCWRA hosted a legislative tour for members of the California State Legislature and their staff. Together, we discussed issues facing MCWRA Member Agencies, and outlined the challenges in managing water resources in the Sierra Nevada region.

We would like to express our sincere thanks to Assemblywoman Diane Papan, Chair of the Assembly Committee on Water, Parks, and Wildlife, and her staff for joining us, as well as representatives from Assemblyman Joe Patterson’s office, Assemblyman Heath Flora’s office, and the Assembly Republican Office of Policy and Budget.

In addition, MCWRA would like to thank our Member Agency hosts - Utica Water and Power Authority, Union Public Utility District, and Calaveras County Water District - for their support in planning and leading the event.
