Sierra Nevada Conservancy Draft Grant Guidelines

Potential Grant Applicant:

The Sierra Nevada Conservancy (SNC) has published DRAFT Grant Guidelines for the Proposition 1 Grants Program for Fiscal Years 2015-16 and 2016-17.  The Guidelines and information on public workshops are available on the SNC website (www.sierranevada.ca.gov) and will be available for public comment through March 27, 2015.

The funding available for this round of grants is $10 million.  The draft guidelines identifies a focus of projects that improve forest health.  Additional details and project examples are included in the Guidelines.  It is anticipated that the Guidelines will be approved by the SNC Board at its regular June meeting.

In order to be eligible to receive a grant award from the SNC under this program, projects must: Be located within a forested area of the Sierra Nevada Region or have a direct impact on forest lands or waters within the Region.

·         Be consistent with the SNC mission and program areas as defined in the SNC Strategic Plan and the Sierra Nevada Watershed Improvement Program (WIP), and meet the requirements of Proposition 1 regarding competitive grants.

Instructions for submitting public comments on the DRAFT Grant Guidelines are available on the SNC website along with specific information on the development of the SNC Proposition 1 program.  We welcome your comments.
